L.T 5.4 – Create a brand archetype

Brief:

You have been asked to design the brand and website for an eco-friendly zero-waste soap brand called: eKo. Think about which brand archetype you would choose and choose one or more website design trends that would work well for their website. Then, bring your ideas together by creating a mood board first. 

Proceed to create a high-fidelity prototype of the landing page, using Adobe XD or Figma. 

I browsed online reading about other eco-friendly brands and soap companies and decided to do an archetype test with questions regarding what I wanted to convey with the brand. It told me to use the caregiver archetype. (also called mother, nurturer, parent, angel). This archetype is typically driven by their needs to protect and care for others, they offer safety and protection. They aim to make their customers take care of themselves and the planet. I feel this is the perfect fit for an Eco-friendly soap company.

I decided to make a color pallet for the brand and find fonts that would match. Blue represents Strength, Competence, High Quality, Dependable, Trust, Tranquility, Peace, Integrity, Intelligence, Security, Balance, Calm, Safety, Committed. Turqpuise represents Spiritual, Healing, Protection, Serenity, Introspection and white represents Goodness, Sincerity, Purity, Balance, Calm, Fresh, Cleanliness, Easy, Innocence, Light. These are all attributes I wished to convey, so I made the pallet with this in mind.

I created a logo based on the font DrSugiyama Pro. I wanted it to have a flowy and clean style and a luxurious feeling to it.

I wanted the website to offer a sense of security and motivate people to choose the brand that would not only keep them clean and nice smelling but also worked for the environment. When researching the trending websites , most of them felt too bold and experimental for the vibe I wished to convey, so I went with a minimalist website, focusing on mindfullness and weellbeing.
